Hello…
Edith Piaf - Hymne A L’amour
Edith wrote this song about Marcel Cerdan, the love of her life, and first performed it at the cabaret Versailles in New York City just one month before he died in a plane crash coming to see her.
Oh, wow. This is me actually writing in my blog.
I am a little over a week behind on my 365 now. What a surprise not really cool story bro. I know. Only a few weeks into the new year & I’ve already failed.
Aside from trying to push myself this year, I think I should also be a bit more realistic. It’s not impossible to shoot a photo of a different person each day, but some days I just don’t get that chance to meet up with someone or to go out at all to at least shoot strangers. Wow. That must sound like wtf when heard out of context…
Anyway, the whole point of this is to constantly keep myself active in my practice anyway; I try to stick to my rule of never leaving home without at least one camera, but even then, I could go the entire day without shooting a photo.
Really, I just need to make great everyday use of my cameras.. Especially since I purchased a new 5D Mark II back in November. I need to shoot this thing like how I did my Nikon D3000.. ALL DAY, EVERYDAY.
Another thing I should keep in mind is to be more optimistic & not dwell on the disappointments. Yeah, I need to give myself a good scolding for not keeping up with this a lot better, but it’s also something I’m doing for fun.. I don’t have to drag myself down with it.
With that said, I think it’s a mighty fine compromise to just stick to at least one photograph in general for each day.
I took some pretty sweet photographs this past weekend when AFTK! & I went to go shooting with Nit for her birthday. We explored some parts of Houston that we hadn’t yet been to & it was pretty awesome to say the least. I haven’t been able to go on a photo-venture like that in a long while, so it felt great to do so.
School starts tomorrow. Both excited & dreading it all at once. If I can manage to sneak in some free time, I’ll use the school machines to edit my photographs from this weekend & all the other overdue 365’s.
Holy shit, I fucking seriously need to get a new DDR.
Bye.
With hands intertwined
Through space and time, trying not
To leave you behind.
