Why...
.. Do I always get this slightly sad feeling every time the holidays roll around? I don’t know if it’s nostalgia or something; I think the weather has a lot to do with it, but I live in Houston so it gets partly sunny, and harsher cold hasn’t even hit yet.
Whatever.
Screw you, store-bought pumpkin pie!!
I don’t care if I’m broke! I’m gonna go down to the grocery store, buy my ingredients, and bake MY yearly HOMEMADE pumpkin WITH RUM pie with HANDMADE WHIPPED CREAM!!! Suck on that!
I WILL POST PICTURES TOO!
Going down to the coffee shop. Let me share with your a few things about this coffee shop because I think it's amazing.
- The people who run this deal are big money-bags with even bigger hearts.
- All the employees are volunteers (hey, that’s me!)
- All the money goes to charities.
- It’s not completely finished but they’ve brought in some baristas and today, I’m going to learn how to mix you fine folks some lattes and shit.
- They will also teach us how to make Christmas tree lattes for the holiday. Cute, right?
That’s awesome! A fully volunteer run coffee house. Which charities do they donate to? Also, I think being a barista is one of the best jobs to have. Sure, you deal with a shitload of rude ass, grumpy, gotta-have-my-caffeine people, but as one of my first jobs, I loved it. I loved learning about the history and other facts about coffee, espresso, etc. and I learned to appreciate coffee overall; You’ll become quite the aficionado and will probably loathe Starbucks and other big company coffee houses if you don’t already. Haha.
Thanks guys.
Ah, my roommate works in San Jose as well. You should come hang out sometime!
YES! You’re right. I should…After the holiday when I actually have money again!
Haha, I like how easily this got off topic… So are you gonna call the hot Thai dude or not? :)
I’m not sure. Proabably so just so I can take a picture of him and show you guys. (Is that wrong? whatever.)
It wouldn’t hurt… Haha. Plus, I’m curious to see how he looks, since you mentioned him being mixed.
Thanks guys.
Well, I live 30 mins from Sacramento, really. But I work in San Jose and spend most of my time in San Fran when I’m down there.

And this is not an enforcement problem. The police made an arrest and the prosecutors brought the case. The judge didn’t throw it out. The case went all the way to a jury.
This is a cultural problem. He admitted he pinned her down, he admitted he covered her mouth, he admitted that he put his penis inside her with no condom … and a jury of ordinary citizens acquitted him anyway. I can’t see any way that happens unless they simply decided that they are so biased against sex workers that they think sex workers deserve to be raped when doing their job.

Menomena!
I absolutely LOVE having an insanely extensive collection of music on iTunes. I’ll put this thing on shuffle and come across stuff I’m hearing for the first time despite having the song for quite a while.
With that said, I used my audio upload for today to put in a song for The Underground, but tomorrow I’ll upload a song from one of my recent favorites as of right now: Menomena!
As for right now here’s a past poem entry with a Menomena music video to go with it. Enjoy.
Hello
I say hello when I walk
Say hello when I fly
Say hello when I talk
Say hello when I drive
Say hello to all my people who been working all week
Say hello because I carry no contempt in my speech— Blue Scholars
Just a thought.
I hate how it’s only near the end of the semester that I started to really get to know people in my Intermediate Graphics class. No, it wasn’t because I was shy or snobby or anything like that, but it was just really a matter of actually sitting down and talking with people in class about things that weren’t graphic design related. Critiques for both my graphics classes are wayyy too overwhelmingly long and by the time we finish, class is almost over, and there’s really not much room left to just talk to people.
It’s a shame, because there are some really cool people in the graphics department, but I plan to leave the major next semester. I’ll still be in fine arts; just switching to photography. But I won’t get to regularly see these people I’ve just started talking to. I know there’s one chick in my class who made sure to get the same photo class I’m taking next semester, but that’s pretty much it. I think everyone in Intermediate has pretty much already taken some sort of printmaking, so I don’t think I’ll be seeing anyone in those classes from graphics.
Earlier today, I got to talking with two people about underground hip-hop in general, and I even shared a few discographies with one dude and got some recommendations from another. I would have never known that either of them listened to such good music if the opportunity to just chill and talk hadn’t presented itself. I actually thought that the guy who gave me some new artists to check out was going to be a jerk during the beginning of the semester, but he turned out to be one of the friendliest and most chill people from my classes.
I don’t know, hopefully next semester will just be a lot better, and that I still get to see these people around. I keep hearing from other students that a lot of the photo majors are snobby for some reason, haha. I think it’s just because no one knows who exactly is a photography major, so it just appears as if the people in photo don’t talk to anyone.
Or whatever.
Hopefully I’ll meet some cool people in this the photography department too, because it really does help to ease up on the seriousness of things regarding these classes when you’ve got people to just chill with in between what little free time you’re granted.
Just being optimistic about things in general, because this semester was a;ldkfjkfhwhfhwlkaflk!!!!!!
